The card’s value was boosted by its rare grading: a Beckett BGS 10 Pristine Black Label, which is considered much harder to receive than a standard gem-mint grade. At the time, more than 7,000 copies had been graded by PSA, with over 6,000 earning PSA 10s, while only 50 of roughly 1,500 Beckett-graded copies had achieved Black Label status.
The hype has carried into 2026. The Dodgers brought One Piece Night back on July 2, 2026, this time with even more awareness around the giveaway. The 2026 event included a Dodgers-branded straw hat for the first 52,000 ticketed fans, up from 40,000 the previous year.
The demand also affected ticket prices. True Blue LA reported that the cheapest team-listed seats for the July 2 game were around $376, compared with about $81 for the following night. That jump shows how much a limited trading card promo can impact interest in an otherwise regular-season baseball game.
For collectors, the big takeaway is simple: crossover promos are becoming more than souvenirs. When a major sports team, a massive anime franchise, and a popular trading card game collide, the result can create instant demand. The 2025 Dodgers One Piece card became valuable partly because many fans did not realize what they had. By 2026, collectors were ready.
That may also mean the 2026 card will not reach the same resale heights. More fans now understand the value of keeping the card sealed and protected, which means more copies will likely survive in good condition. More supply usually means lower long-term prices.
